Pharmaceutical Data Sharing
Innovation & Service Design
Overview
A large pharmaceutical company had research data trapped in silos, and needed
new technical and human strategies to enable healthy data sharing for future machine learning.
My Contribution
I guided a team of pharmaceutical data experts to approach problems differently. After exploring data governance and other data sharing models, we followed a human approach to process innovation. Through workshopping and collaborative service design, we radically improved their offerings.
Impact
The pharmaceutical data team successfully pivoted their offerings away from mandated governance toward a beneficial model of service. With more clearly defined offerings (consult, create, share), they overcame process and technical barriers and gained support from pharmacy and data scientists across the organization.
“Our solutions can be too defined by technology – hammers looking for nails. The quality of the facilitation, the all-in commitment, and your adept practices were exceptional. We need to work this way more broadly.”
NDA Project
